The separate Health and Wellbeing Boards for Kent, and for Medway, have set up a joint board, as a sub-committee, to encourage integrated working and to advise on the development of our plans for Kent and Medway.

The new joint board, which will meet once a quarter, will have a particular focus on prevention, local care, and wellbeing across Kent and Medway. It will champion integration in the delivery of local care and check that our work is properly based on the strategic assessments of people’s needs in Kent and Medway and each area’s health and wellbeing strategy.

It will also advise us on developing clear plans and business cases to assist commissioners in making best use of their combined resources to improve local health and wellbeing outcomes. The local Health and Wellbeing Boards retain responsibility for all their statutory functions, and will receive advice and recommendations from the joint board for consideration.
