Partners from the STP held a summit on Friday 22 September to discuss a plan for transforming children’s services across Kent and Medway.
Beginning the journey for Children and Young People in the STP was hosted and chaired by Hazel Carpenter, Accountable Officer for South Kent Coast and Thanet CCGs and lead on children’s services for the STP, and organised by Jane O’Rourke, children’s commissioning lead for east Kent.
The summit looked at what it’s like to be a child in Kent and Medway and featured videos showing the difficulties people face, including Heather’s story about her twins with autism. The agenda also included speakers from the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
Key questions for the summit were: how do we keep a focus on children, young people and their families through the STP and what are our priorities?
