Over the past few years, the health commissioners from all eight clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) in Kent and Medway been talking to thousands of people about how we can improve stroke services in Kent and Medway.

After detailed conversations with stroke survivors, their carers and families, members of the public, clinicians and key stakeholders, we’re getting close to going out to public consultation with our proposals.

The engagement we’ve done so far has all been logged and fed into the work we’ve been doing to determine the options we will consult on. We expect to finalise these options and to be ready to formally consult in early 2018.

Since early 2015 we’ve used a variety of engagement channels to reach out to people including surveys, focus groups, listening events, roadshows, face to face meetings, e newsletters, printed magazines, emails, media, social media, websites.

This year alone we’ve held listening events and engagement activities across Kent and Medway, in every clinical commissioning group area. In summer 2017 we engaged around the case for change and evaluation criteria.

We’ll be holding more events as part of our consultation and we’ll also have a survey for you to give us your views, and will be publicising other ways you can tell us what you think about our proposals including via website and on social media.

We want to hear from as many people as possible.

To make sure you’re kept informed about the consultation, email us at dgs.communications@nhs.net to let us know you’d like to be added to our distribution list.
